Havana Came to Tremont Avenue

In 2010, Bronx Havana Cafe opened its doors on Tremont Avenue with a simple idea: cook the way Havana kitchens cook, and let the neighborhood decide the rest. It decided fast.

No fusion, no shortcuts — just sofrito built from scratch, pork that roasts all day, and rice cooked the way it's supposed to be cooked. Word traveled block by block until "the Cuban spot" needed no other name.

Today, Bronx Havana Cafe is known as the first Cuban restaurant the Bronx could call its own — and to the regulars who've been coming since day one, it's still the only one that counts.

The Classics, Done Right

Every dish traces back to a Havana kitchen — no shortcuts, no substitutions on the recipes that built our name.

Ropa Vieja

Beef simmered low and slow until it shreds into a rich tomato-pepper sofrito. The dish that built our reputation.

Lechón Asado

Citrus-mojo pork roasted until the skin cracks and the meat falls apart. A Sunday-table staple, served daily.

The Cubano

Pressed to order — ham, roast pork, Swiss, pickles, mustard — on bread that shouldn't be this good this far from Miami.

Mariquitas & Tostones

Thin-cut plantain chips and double-fried tostones, made to order and gone before they hit the table.

Arroz con Pollo

Saffron-gold rice, chicken, and sofrito in one pan — the dish abuelas judge every kitchen by.

Café Cubano & Flan

Strong, sweet, and pulled with a colada shot for the table. Flan and tres leches close every visit right.
